Studying abroad is never an easy journey, especially for international students coming from financially struggling backgrounds. Every year, thousands of students dream of studying in Northern Cyprus, but many give up because of fear, financial pressure, or negative opinions from people around them.
This is the story of a student who almost lost hope multiple times, yet today he is successfully studying in his 3rd semester at university in North Cyprus. His journey is not just about education, it is about patience, sacrifice, faith in Allah, and believing in your dreams even when everything seems impossible.
The Beginning of the Dream
Like many students, he wanted a better future through international education. After searching for affordable study destinations, he applied to a university in Northern Cyprus. Fortunately, he received admission with an 80% scholarship in his desired program. For him and his family, this was a huge opportunity. However, getting admission was only the first step. The real challenge was arranging the initial payment required by the university.
The student belonged to a financially weak background. His family struggled to arrange the fee. After a lot of difficulty, stress, and borrowing money from relatives, he finally managed to submit the initial payment through the bank.
After some days, he received his Final Acceptance Letter (FAL). Everything was moving in the right direction, and even the embassy appointment date arrived for visa file submission.
Negative Opinions Changed Everything
Just when things were finally becoming smooth, some relatives and family friends started discouraging him.

- “There are no jobs in TRNC”
- “Life is very difficult there”
- “Education is tough, courses are tough, you are not able, you cannot study”
- “You will waste your time”

These negative comments created fear and confusion in his mind. At the same time, the uncle from whom he had borrowed money demanded the money back urgently. Suddenly, everything collapsed. The student became mentally disturbed and financially helpless. He contacted his consultant and discussed the situation in detail. After careful consideration, his application was deferred to the next intake.
For many students, this would have been the end of the journey. But sometimes, delays are not rejection, they are preparation!
A Difficult Phase of Life
When the next intake started, the student was still financially weak. He had no money for travel expenses, visa processing, or other important costs. He was worried, stressed, and emotionally exhausted. At one point, he even thought that maybe studying abroad was not written in his destiny. But he did not completely lose hope. He kept praying, working hard, and searching for solutions. Slowly, things started changing in unexpected ways.
God Opened New Doors
One of the biggest miracles happened when the university upgraded his scholarship from 80% to 100% in the new intake. The same program that was previously offered with partial scholarship was now fully funded in tuition terms. The initial payment he had already submitted became a huge financial relief and saving for him. This moment changed everything.
Once again, he arranged finances with difficulty by taking another loan from his uncle. He prepared his embassy file and submitted his visa application with hope and prayers.
Finally, the visa was granted. That day was emotional not only for the student but also for his family, because after months of struggle, uncertainty, criticism, and delays, the dream had finally become reality.
Today: Successfully Studying in North Cyprus
Today, that same student is happily studying in his 3rd semester at university in Northern Cyprus managing his studies and part time job simultaneously. He is highly thankful to God for guiding him through the hardest phase of his life. The same people who once discouraged him are now surprised to see his progress, confidence, and the remarkable improvement in his financial position.
His story teaches an important lesson to every student:
